1. Summary
We do not run a backend that receives your cat save data. The app stores gameplay and adoption data on your device. Third-party payment, website, and ad services process data as described below.
2. Data processed only on your device
Game save data — stored in local files only; never uploaded.
Notification & Dock badge reading (website macOS edition, optional) — with Accessibility permission, the app reads
on-screen banner/badge text solely to animate the cats. The text is discarded immediately and never stored or sent.
Claude Code session detection (website macOS edition, optional) — reads only file modification times and folder names under
~/.claude/projects, locally. File contents are never read; nothing is transmitted.
Reminders (Mac App Store/TestFlight edition, optional) — off by default. When enabled, the app requests permission to read reminders and uses due dates and titles locally to animate a cat carrying a reminder. This information is not uploaded by the app.
Cat data (Mac App Store/TestFlight free edition, version 1.0 build 2 onward) — cat names, breeds and care state stay on your device. Any cats saved by the unreleased build 1 are preserved locally; the free edition does not process new purchase transactions.
Media playback / battery / idle state — checked locally to drive cat reactions.
3. Third-party services
Website analytics (Google Analytics) — This website (including the download, patch-notes, and privacy
pages) uses Google Analytics to understand page visits and download button clicks. It processes anonymous
measurement cookies/identifiers and approximate IP-based location, used only to improve the website and
understand distribution. You can opt out via browser cookie blocking or Google's GA opt-out add-on.

Payments (website download edition, Gumroad) — breed adoptions are purchased on Gumroad in your browser. Your email and payment
details are handled by Gumroad; the app only verifies license keys via the Gumroad API.

Mac App Store free edition (version 1.0 build 2 onward) — includes one orange cat with no in-app purchases, subscriptions, external checkout or license-key activation. Apple handles the App Store account used to download the app. The website download edition retains its separate external purchase system.
Advertising-free App Store edition (version 1.0 build 3 onward) — no advertising SDK, browser advertising, reward callback or tracking is included. Supplies refill locally, and care tools work offline. The app does not collect or transmit personal data.
Optional advertising rewards (website edition and unreleased App Store build 2, GameMonetize) — "Watch ad" opens a supply-reward advertising page in your default browser. The app does not send cat data, reminders or an app/device identifier in this link. The provider logs IP addresses, device/browser characteristics and uses cookies; its advertising partners may use site visits and ad interactions for targeted advertising and measurement. Browser privacy settings and provider opt-outs apply. The return link only reports the reward result and timestamp; it does not identify your cat or App Store account.
GameMonetize policy and opt-out information
Update check (website download edition, GitHub Pages) — the app downloads a version file to check for updates; your IP address
may appear in GitHub's server logs (GitHub's policies apply).
4. Children
Purchases in the website edition and optional advertising pages should be supervised by an adult. The Mac App Store edition from build 3 has no purchases or advertising. Advertising in the website edition is optional and governed by the advertising providers' policies.
